MID GIPPSLAND
BOOLARRA Football-Netball Club recently landed a huge recruiting coup, signing reigning North Gippsland Football-Netball League senior best-and-fairest Ricky Cochrane for season 2022.
Cochrane won this year’s NGFNL vote count after a stellar season with Traralgon Tyers United.
The hard-nosed midfielder comes to the Demons with no shortage of awards, having been named in the NGFNL Team of the Year four times and winning two club best-and-fairests for TTU.
In further good news for Boolarra, star player Brendan Mason has re-signed.
Mason came to the Demons this season after playing some solid football in his time with Churchill.
Tony Giardina will again coach the senior team, as Boolarra looks to turn its on-field fortunes around.
Giardina coached the Demons to their last premiership a decade ago, but recent seasons have netted finishes of 11th (2021), 8th (2019) and 10th with zero wins (2018)
