MIDWEEK Pennant was played in pleasant warm conditions and the closest top-flight game was at Newborough where Drouin with only one rink up defeated the home team to reverse the result at Drouin earlier in the season.
Sheryl Atkinson and her rink of Ron Westrup, Elaine Thorpe and Mark Atkinson stared with a 25-9 win over Jo-Anne Michaels and her rink of John Arnold, Mary Whelan and Nosha Michaels Joan Goldie and her team of Robert Goldie, Jeff Wetzel and Julie Jackson won 23-14 over Denise Hamilton and her rink of Graeme Aubrey, Jan Aubrey and Denis Throup. Debbie Kennedy and her rink of Josh Kennedy, Barry Daley and Fran Clark won 19-14 against Maureen Leighton and her rink of Ruth Waring, John Leighton and Les Firth leaving Drouin the winners by two shots.
Drouin 12-53 defeated Newborough 4-51.
WARRAGUL had a good win on grass at Traralgon RSL.
Kerrie Currie was the big winner for Warragul with her rink of Alison Matthews, John Vickerman and Graeme Davis defeating Shirley McKenzie and her rink of John Farquhar, Julie Sutcliffe and Joe Ward.
Janette Gallasch and her rink of Matt and Gabrielle Draisma together with Peter Gallasch won 23-18 over Margaret Gibbins and her rink of Adriana Eaton, Max Gibbins and Jeff Blythman.
The lone winning RSL rink was Elaine Muir and her rink of Titch Hore, Margaret Morley and Max Aumann, who won 26-17 over Linda McCoy and her rink of Margaret Keefe, Bob Currie and Andrew Glover leaving Warragul the winners by six shots in a repeat of their early season victory.
Warragul 14-65 defeated Traralgon RSL 2-59.
GLENDA Thompson and her Morwell rink of Kevin Pigdon, Letti Mizzi and Wayne Bishop had a 31-9 win over Mary Holdsworth and her team of Carol Saunders, Graham Hill and Ken Capper to lay the foundation for a Morwell win.
Trafalgar won the other two rinks as Sue Robinson and her team of Barbara Evans, Tim Anderson and Paul Dawson winning 21-20 over Shirley Skinner and her rink of Ross Harford, Judy Tumney and John Osborne. Heather Taylor and her rink of Pat Tatterson, Ian Miles and Tim Fraser won 25-15 over Rita Reddiex and her team of Bill Tumney, Kerry Wright and Russell Williams.
Morwell 12-66 defeated Trafalgar 4-55.
TRARALGON visited Morwell Club with Paddy Francis and her rink of Bill Francis, Lyn Moffat and Barry Fernance winning 26-8 over Tess Borg and her rink of Roger Rejmer, Bernie Kirkup and David Patience becoming the third Division 1 team to win with only one rink up.
The home team fought back with Beryl Noblett and her team of Iyoko Yoshimura, Sue Karleusa and Tara Harle winning 22-19 over Kathy Smiles and her rink of Chris Thomas, Rosemary Lorenz and Phil Mustoe. Jan Karleusa and her team of Dashaa Martin, Bernie Marino and Gail Rejmer defeated Pat Trewin and her rink of Elaine Swan, Bill Kirby and Matt Higgins 22-17, leaving Traralgon the winners by 10 shots.

DROUIN (2) welcomed Newborough (2) and the visitors started well with Adrienne Birchall and her rink of Ruth Verhagen, Chris Cunninghamand Graham Cocks defeating Lyn Jeffrey 26-21.
Carmel Goss defeated Mary Andrews 18-17 and the lone winner for the visitors was Margaret Owens who defeated Heather Mooney 18-15 leaving Newborough (2) the winners by three shots.
Newborough (2) 14-59 defeated Drouin (2) 2-56.
TRARALGON (2) hosted Morwell Club (2) and the home team managed a two shot victory in a low scoring game. May Cross defeated Cheryl Reynolds 17-16 and Lyn Bloomfield defeated
Leanne Broadbent 16-12 while for the visitors Betty Burridge and her team of Duncan Hanlon, Janine McCowan and Brett Harle defeated Dettie Wylie 23-20 leaving Traralgon (2) the winners by two shots.

NEERIM District defeated Warragul with Pat Fraser-Aurisch defeating Gladys Atkinson 20-17 and Karren Sheers having the same 20-17 score to defeat Glynis Mitchell.
Cookie Halligan and Chris Wilkins drew 19-19 leaving Neerim District the winners by six shots in a repeat margin of their early season match.

MOE welcomed Morwell (2) and had an all rinks up victory. Chris O’Reilly and her rink of Charles McArthur, Olive Lang and John Woods won 28-7 over Jan Whelan. Val Griffiths defeated Shirley Kolcze 19-18 and Lorraine Horton and her rink of Robyn Dodd, Shirley Ainsworth and Sue Allford defeated Palma McNeill 25-12.

NEWBOROUGH (3) welcomed Drouin (3) and with only one rink up Joy Cadby and her rink of Helen Grubb, Ken Bechaz and Phil Marston defeated Dini Hone 30-15. Gwen Price defeated Marcia Evans 17-16 and Maria Wans defeated Ann-Mary Ryan leaving Newborough (3) winning by seven shots.

YINNAR again proved too strong for Morwell (3) with Jenny Harris and her rink of John O’Neill, Russ Peters and Jenny Jones defeating Jan Moody 31-7. Meredith Kennon defeated Jenny Duncan 29-15. To complete the clean sweep Hilarie Anstey had a 21-20 win over Sharlene Draeger.
Yinnar 16-81 defeated Morwell (3) 0-49.
HELEN Robertson and her rink of Rena Spark, Tony Dawson and Carolyn Fox defeated Muriel
Johnson 26-18 to give Trafalgar (2) a two shot victory. For Traralgon (3), Maureen Rooney defeated Margaret Moss 24-18 while Lyn Sephton and Stephanie Davidson managed a 20-20 draw leaving Trafalgar (2) the winners.

Revenge proves a dish best served later than never
SATURDAY PENNANT
REVENGE was the order of the day with only two matches in the top five divisions being repeat winners from the first round of matches earlier in the season.
Traralgon had a big win over Morwell Club with Matt Ferrari and his rink of Kirsty Van Den Hoff, Kevin Enguell and Ian Kirkup winning 33-16 over Rod Smith and his rink of Vaughan Reimers, Michael Skinner and Neil Whitelaw.
Vin McIlwain and his team of Shane Chapman, Abe Roeder and Chris Ward won 27-17 over Nobby Noblett and his rink of Zac Arnold, Alan Campbell and David Stevens.
Phil Mustoe and his rink of Chris Thomas, Ian Hilsley and Maurice Sutcliffe won 24-23 over Glenn Trembath and his rink of David Patience, David Broadbent and Wayne Arnold.
James Scullin and his rink of Ron Sherlock, Pat Trewin and Damien Barnes drew with Brett Harle and his rink of Duncan Hanlon, Roger Rejmer and Tara Harle

Brian Thorpe defeated Jeff Blythman 25-18, Col Jeffreys defeated Max Gibbings 19-17 and Bruce Andrews downed Ron Osler 23-19 to seal the clean sweep.

Nathan Cook and his rink of Bernie Detering, Abbas Mehran and Wayne Bishop won 40-21 over Grahan Cross, Ron Lyfield defeated Dave Currie 26-23 and David Cook defeated Barry Fernance 32-17. The lone winner for Traralgon (2) was Cary Locke defeating Ernie King 21-17.

NEERIM District welcomed Thorpdale and had a big win. Peter Throup and his rink of Karren Sheers, Tony Thornton and Pat Fraser-Aurisch had a 29-13 win over Brendan Jennings. Ray Watts defeated Danny Vanzuylen 27-14 and Angus McGillivray had a 32-21 win over Ross Kennedy.
The lone Thorpdale winner was Ben Powell with a 23-22 win over Peter Brookes.
Neerim District 16-110 defeated Thorpdale 2-71.
LONGWARRY completed a string of wins over each side in Division 2 with a strong win over early season conquerors Newborough (2). Ken Towt and his rink of Jason Lieshout, Simon Counsel and Grant Pask had a 40-25 win over Gary Ingley.
Matt Eccles won 25-21 over John Wasiukiewicz. For the visitors, Graham Cocks had a 23-17 win over Ken White and Joan Goldie defeated Adam Proctor 24-21.

Churchill 14-70 defeated Traralgon RSL (2) 2-53 with Shirley Turner and her rink of Peter Shields, Dianne Thomas and Marion Newton winning 37-12 and Bill Brown winning 19-16.
