MOE basketballer Myah Healey has been selected in the Victorian Under-20 women’s team to represent the state at the upcoming Australian Junior Championships.
Healey will play in the Victoria Navy Women’s team, to be coached by Morwell export David
Herbert.
As well as the Navy Women, six teams will head to Mackay, Queensland from Tuesday, April 19 until Sunday, April 24 for the Australian Under-20 Junior Championships and Ivor Burge Championships for athletes with an intellectual disability.
The Victorian Ivor Burge Women will make their return to the Australian Junior Championships following a one-year hiatus due to other states not committing to the event in 2021.
Victorian teams secured three silver medals at this event in 2021 with the Under-20 Men, Under-20 Women and Ivor Burge Men performing well in spite of the difficult circumstances of 2021 coming out of lockdown a few weeks before the event.
