MIDWEEK pennant bowls continued Tuesday with players enjoying good bowling conditions following heavy weekend rain.

In Division 1, unbeaten sides Morwell Club and Newborough met at Newborough with the Newborough rink of Sammy Atkinson with Jesse Hebbard, Mo Leighton and Scott Jones winning 29-10 against Tara Harle their only winner.

Neil Whitelaw and his rink of Geoff Unwin, John Woischuk and Vaughan Reimers defeated Sheryl Atkinson 19-11 and Brett Harle and his rink of Iyoko Yoshimura, Sue Karleusa and Roger Rejmer defeated Phil Mustoe 18-14.

This has left Newborough alone on top of the ladder with a 54-47 victory.

Trafalgar had a good win at home against Moe with Matt Schreyer and his rink of Graham Hill, Ian Miles and Matt Coutts defeating Paul Read 28-15.

Adam Proctor and his rink of Helen Robertson, Matt Ogilvie and Mick Fleming won 21-16 against Jim Lawrence.

For Moe, Ian Caines and his rink of Michael Rudy together with Val and Brian Rodgers defeated David Cook 27-20.

Warragul won well at home against Traralgon with Margaret Ratcliffe and her rink of Russ Carrick, Graeme Davis and Gaye Renn winning 29-12 against Trevor James.

Gary Ingley and his rink of Lynne Thomas, Lynda Morrison and Peter Gallasch defeated Kathy Smiles 22-9 and for Traralgon, James Scullin and his rink of Gary Bassett, Bill Kirby and Graham Cross defeated Robert Renn 18-16.

Drouin with only the rink of Robert Campbell together with Vincent Mancarella, Elaine Thorpe and John Bickerdike defeated Margaret Gibbins 24-15 held on to defeat Traralgon RSL 61-55, who had Maurie Sutcliffe and his rink of Ron Osler, Gordon Bayley and Ross McKenzie defeating Dennis Throup 18-17 and Ross Sizeland and his rink of Margaret Morley, Peter Barnes and Greg Pratt defeating Les Firth 22-20.

 

IN Division 2, Newborough (2) welcomed Drouin (2) with Trevor Kennedy and his rink of Michael Holroyd, Jeff Wetzel and Julie Jackson winning 40-8.

Robbert Cook won 26-16 and Len Middling 27-8 leaving Newborough (2) winning 93-31.

Morwell with Steve Collins and his rink of Mike Arnold, Rita Reddiex and David Broadbent winning 29-9, Danny McKeown winning 25-20 and Col Grant 24-17 had a 78-46 win at Yinnar.

Newborough (3) with Albert Van Stekelenburg and his rink of Maurie Ludlow, Bev Luck and Ed Whelan had a 16-8 win and Di Bertoli won 17-11 against Neerim District who had Pat Fraser-Aurisch winning 22-15 leaving Newborough (3) winning 48-41.

Traralgon (2) won well at home against Trafalgar (2) with Ian Wills and his rink of Karen Hodgens, Janis Kirby and Mick Reynolds winning 27-10, May Cross won 21-19 and Bill Bishop 26-18.

 

IN Division 3, Churchill defeated Yarragon 55 – 47 with David Patience and his rink of Barry Flanigan, David Moir and Craig Roberts winning 26-11 and John Stewart won 19-12.

For Yarragon, Richard Chetland won 24-10.

Longwarry won all rinks at Morwell Club (2) with Dave Ashby and his rink of Ken White. Dale Weller and Craig Cousin winning 27-11 and Jason Lieshout won 22-15 and Trevor Kitchin 28-14, seeing Longwarry win 77-40.

Warragul (2 defeated Drouin (3) 72 – 54 with Greg Mitchell and his rink of Ada Baxter, Bill Clappers and Bill Clarke winning 30-15.

Paul Simmons won 22-15 and for Drouin (3) Andrew Blaby won 24-20.

Morwell (2) defeated Traralgon (3) 77-45 with Bob Wilson and his rink of Lou Edge, Lyn Johnston and James Turner winning 34-9, Rebecca Matheson won 26-13 and for Traralgon (3) Graham Webb won 23-17.

 

IN Division 4, Longwarry (2) 15-58 defeated Traralgon 94 thwaite 1-54 with Gerard Mitchell winning 20-17.

Yallourn North 12-69 defeated Newborough (4) 4-55 with Steve Postlethwaite winning 35-12.

Morwell (3) 14-61 defeated Moe (2) 2-51 with Jan Moody winning 24-17.

Traralgon RSL (2) 14-63 defeated Garfield 2-41 with Alan Jones winning 29-9.

 

IN Division 5, Drouin (4) 8-43 defeated Churchill (2) 2-28 with Geoff Pattison winning 26-9.

Traralgon RSL (3) 8-49 defeated Neerim District (2) 2 – 23 with Peter Hore winning 33-4.

Morwell (4) 8-45 defeated Trafalgar (3) 2 – 41 with Phillip Butler winning 19-13.

Yinnar (2) 10-48 defeated Warragul (3) 0-29 with Anne Lirsch winning 25-13.
