TRARALGON HARRIERS

TRARALGON Harriers Athletics Club had a traditionally busy September.

A flat 6km course saw runners go from Sanctuary Lake on The Avenue around Traralgon on Thursday, September 10.

The course took in Park Lane and Hammersmith Circuit, with the three laps having a total ascent of 40 metres.

Conditions were perfect for the field of 57 keen runners.

First over the line in 22:00 minutes was Peter Cutler, followed by Jay McGown (24:06) and Andrew Greenhill (25:17).

First of the ladies home was Yani Cornthwaite (26:20), followed by Karen Graham (27:54) and new runner Mina Alkhafaji (28:21).

THE September 17 nigh run was an undulating 5km course starting at the Agnes Brereton netball courts.

The course takes in the Traralgon Creek walking track, followed by a climb up Balmoral Place and St George’s road with a total ascent of 50 metres, followed by a cruise down Eton Ave and back home.

A cold wind made the start a bit chilly, but 49 runners soon warmed up.

First over the line in 17:11 minutes was Sav Mavrofridis, followed by Adrian Sutcliffe (21:47) and Ash Crawford (21:57).

First of the ladies home was Chelsea Fox (24:59), followed by Karen Graham (25:45) and Megan Kenny (25:55).

THE September 24 run was a fairly flat 5km course starting at “The Rise” Park Shelter on Kelleher Drive, Traralgon.

The course takes in Walker Crescent and Craven Mews to Traralgon Maffra Road. The return home is via Baldwin Rd and George Albet Drive, with two laps to make up the 5km. Perfect spring running conditions greeted the 51 runners.

First over the line in 18:30 minutes was Sav Mavrofridis, followed by Luke Yeates (20:19) and Andrew Greenhill (20:35). First of the lady’s home was Karen Graham (23:21) followed by Megan Kenny (26:16) and Bec Anderson (27:32).
