TRARALGON followed the lead of Central Gippsland, accounting for Gippsland Cricket League premier Sale-Maffra in round two at Stoddart Park on Sunday.
The Tornados posted 9/211 batting first, before Ben Julin claimed four wickets to help knock the visiting champion over for 148.
After upsetting the reigning premier in round one, Central Gippsland fell to last season’s runner up in its second outing.
Bairnsdale compiled 214 all out from 49.2 overs, with Liam Smit (3/38) the best of the bowlers.
Josh Keyhoe and first drop Matt Hibbs started the run chase in positive fashion, carving out 41 apiece, but the rest of the order struggled.
The return of captain Rhys Holdsworth (3) made little impact, with some late order resistance from Dermott Leys elevating the total to 165 all out, well short of the mark.
In the other match of the round Warragul defeated Leongatha by five wickets.
