After a suspenseful month wondering who the winner could be, a Traralgon resident has come forward to claim the first division TattsLotto prize money from the 5 September draw.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said they realised they were $773,043.30 richer the night of the draw when they checked their numbers online.
“When I saw the numbers I knew straight away they were mine, but I’d left my ticket outside in my car door,” the winner said.
“I quickly retrieved the ticket and double checked it, and I’ve carried it with me ever since.”
They said while it had been daunting to win that much money they have had time to think about what they would do with the cash.
“It definitely will allow me to live more comfortably,” they said.
The winning ticket was purchased from Traralgon Newsagency and Lotto and store owners Gary and Cheryl Garth said they were happy to hear the winner had come forward and was a local.
“It’s our very first division one win since we took over management of this newsagency in February this year, so it’s not a bad result in just seven months,” Mr Garth said.
“We’re now hoping that our lucky newsagency will bring us another happy division one winner very soon.”
