Two young documentarians are seeking photographs and video content to help tell the story of the Hazelwood mine fire.
Director, producer and editor Peter Yacono, and co-producer Anissha Vijayan’s film project #OURPOWER, created on a shoestring budget, is in its last leg of production due to be released in the coming weeks.
The story is described as one of a “just transition”, from the established brown coal industry in Victoria’s energy hub with a goal to find the sustainable industries of the future.
The pair is seeking photographs of the 2014 fire from the “community’s point of view”.
“We want to see the way the community experienced it, what they saw, what they heard and how this impacted them individually and also their families,” Ms Vijayan said.
“All submitted content will only be used to show the severity and extreme conditions in which you lived through for 45 days during the fire.”
All content can be submitted anonymously or credited on the film and the website.
