Attempted Anzac robbery at Moe

A 15 year-old boy has been charged for an attempted robbery on Anzac Day.

Latrobe Valley Criminal Investigation Unit reported the Warragul boy was allegedly armed with a knife and approached a 26 year-old woman at the corner of Fowler and Langford streets, Moe about 10am on Monday, demanding her belongings and cash.

Police said the victim showed great resilience and courage by not handing anything over and walking towards the Moe Hotel in Lloyd Street.

The boy then allegedly stopped in the conduct and left the scene.

The matter was reported to Moe police, and the alleged offender subsequently charged with attempted armed robbery.

He is due to appear at Latrobe Valley Childrens Court at a later date.

Police have executed a search warrant at a Traralgon home where an alleged $6500 in stolen goods was seized on Sunday.

Traralgon police retrieved most of the stolen goods ranging from electrical goods to clothing and personal products, purchased using a stolen credit card.

A 40 year-old male and 36 year-old female were arrested and charged with 23 deception charges and released on bail to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Latrobe Valley Highway Patrol said motorists were “generally well behaved” on the roads over the Anzac Day long weekend.

Sergeant Andrew Scanlan said highway patrol and general duties officers processed 10 people for drink driving offences in the Latrobe Valley region as part of the four-day ‘Operation Tribute’ campaign.

Sgt Scanlan said the operation was about people arriving safely to their destination with an aim towards zero road fatalities.

“Generally everyone was well behaved,” Sgt Scanlan said.
