Gippsland Dorevitch pathology workers took to the streets of Traralgon today to protest a “zero per cent pay offer” following a long-running pay dispute.
Health Workers Union regional team leader for country Victoria Steven Mitchell said Dorevitch workers had been trying to get a pay rise for more than 10 years now.
“What we’ve got today is a 24 hour stop-work meeting. Then after that they will return to work and there will be ongoing industrial protests from here. The ball is in Dorevitch’s court,” he said.
A Dorevitch spokesperson said in statement “Dorevitch remains committed to its GPs, patients and staff as we work through this matter.”
“A number of contingencies have been implemented to limit the impact to patients and GPs.”
