Boy remanded after crash

A 13-year-old Traralgon boy has been remanded in custody after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle into a house at Traralgon on New Year’s Eve.

Police alleged the boy stole his mother’s Hyundai and was seen driving erratically through Traralgon before colliding with a house on Cameron Street about 9.25pm on Sunday.

Latrobe Highway Patrol members breath-tested the boy who returned a reading of .021.

He was treated for minor injuries at hospital while the family inside the Cameron Street property was uninjured in the crash.

The boy was charged with a number of offences including drink driving, theft of a motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving and committing an indictable offence while on bail.

He faced a children’s court on Tuesday where he was remanded in custody until January 19.

Stabbing charges

Three teenage girls have been charged following an alleged stabbing in Morwell on Sunday night.

Police said a fourth girl, 14, was stabbed about 11pm on New Year’s Eve on Stanton Street in Morwell.

Two of the girls, both 14-years-old, were charged and released on bail while a 13-year-old faced a children’s court on Tuesday where she was remanded in custody until January 19.

She did not apply for bail on Tuesday when the court heard she had been previously prescribed anti-depressant medication and had a potential risk of causing self-harm in custody.

Man airlifted to Melbourne

A 28-year-old Morwell man was airlifted to Melbourne on New Year’s Eve after being assaulted by a group of men.

Police said the man was driving along Hourigan Road, Morwell about 9pm on Sunday before he collided with a residential fence.

The man was then dragged from his car by at least three men before they assaulted him.

The man received significant head injuries and was flown to the Alfred Hospital in a serious condition later that night.

Traralgon man charged

Police have charged a 53-year-old Traralgon man following a burglary on a Shakespeare Street, Traralgon property on October 19 last year.

The man was charged with one count of burglary and three counts of theft.

He will face Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on February 27.
