Glenn Graeme Martyn, 53, charged with the murder of Traralgon woman Gayle Potter will face a three-day committal hearing in August.
Mr Martyn faced Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday in front of a packed court room, with more than 20 people there to support Mr Martyn who sat in the dock.
The court heard eight witnesses would be cross-examined at the three-day committal, including Mr Martyn’s son who will be 18 at the time of the hearing.
Mr Martyn has been in custody since October after he was arrested and charged with the alleged murder of Ms Potter on October 2, 2018.
Mr Martyn was charged with murder after he allegedly struck Ms Potter with a car at an Airfield Road, Traralgon property in October, the court heard last year.
His lawyer Sam Norton said since the accused had been in custody, Mr Martyn had not had seen a “psych nurse”, and requested the magistrate make an order for him to receive help immediately.
The matter will return to court for the three-day hearing in August between 12-14.
