The federal government last night announced an immediate lift of the 30-minute time limit on hairdresser and barber services as part of restrictions to stem the spread of coronavirus.
The restrictions were announced on Tuesday night as part of National Cabinet’s Stage 1 measures.
“Following the receipt of feedback on the practical implementation of measures announces regarding barbers and hairdressers it was agreed by Premiers and Chief Ministers at National Cabinet last night that the instruction regarding 30 minutes per patron will be lifted (effective immediately,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison said in a statement.
“But … the 4sqm rule per person must be strictly observed within the premises and that personal contact during the patron’s visit should be minimised wherever possible.”
National Cabinet will meet again tomorrow (Friday, March 27).
