AS one of the largest corporate players in the Latrobe Valley, new Loy Yang owner AGL Energy Limited has kept a relatively low profile.
That changed last week with the launch of a new local partnership and the hosting of an annual public forum.
In the same week AGL Loy Yang announced a three-year partnership with The Smith Family Gippsland to support a new education program for Kurnai College, the company’s group general manager merchant energy Anthony Fowler also presented at a public forum in Traralgon.
AGL, one of Australia’s largest renewable energy companies, purchased Loy Yang’s 2210 megawatt power station and brown coal mine in June.
At last week’s forum in Traralgon, hosted by Loy Yang’s Environment Review Committee, Mr Fowler spoke about the company’s energy generation portfolio, environmental commitments and why it bought Loy Yang. The community was also given the opportunity to ask questions.
