A MORWELL man was arrested in Melbourne on Monday night for allegedly stealing a puppy outside a Bentleigh East supermarket on 5 February.
Jaffa the Staffordshire cross Kelpie was found in the possession of the 25 year-old man at Southern Cross Station about 10.20pm by protective service officers, who were acting on information from the public.
The dog has since been reunited with its owner.
‘Fox’ search
VICTORIA Police is looking for a man driving a bottle-green sedan with a “FOX” sticker on the rear window in Rosedale on Monday.
Police say the person in the car was acting suspiciously in the Albert and Latrobe streets area, and in the vicinity of the Rosedale Primary School, between 12.30pm and 1pm.
The man was described as wearing a black T-shirt and sunglasses.

Woman assault
A woman with a disability was assaulted in her bed after unknown offenders broke the front bedroom window of her Saxtons Drive property in Moe on 30 January.
According to investigators, the offenders smashed the window of the front bedroom where the victim was asleep about 2.30am and leant through the window to strike the woman with a pole or similar item.
The woman sustained cuts to her arm and bruising to her upper body.
No items were reportedly stolen from the woman’s property.
Youth arrested
A 22 year-old South Australian man was arrested and charged after he was found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs and a pocket knife on 6 February in Traralgon.
The man, who was riding a motorbike down Mason Street, was intercepted by the Traralgon Divisional Van.
It was the second time in three days the man had been arrested and charged with similar offences.
Buggy stolen
AN all-terrain buggy valued at $6000 was stolen from Massaro Motors in Princes Drive, Morwell, overnight on 22 January. Thieves had allegedly gone into the yard of the business and navigated the red Polaris RZR Ranger 170 onto the street.
Trailer theft
A FIREFIGHTING trailer valued at $10,000 was stolen from a Churchill property about noon on Sunday.
The owner of the six foot by four foot trailer with a 1000 litre plastic water tank, pump and reel had purchased the trailer just two days before and left it parked on his property.
Hunt goes on
LATROBE Crime Investigation Unit detectives are still searching for three men allegedly involved in an armed robbery of the BP service station in Morwell on 23 January.
The three men entered the service station about 3.20am, armed with knives and wooden bats.
They were described as wearing hooded jumpers and a “scream” mask and fled on foot along Saskia Way after they threatened the staff on duty.
