More than 500 calls for assistance across Gippsland were made to the State Emergency Service between Thursday and Saturday as high winds and hail lashed the region.
Fallen trees forced the closure of the Princes Highway between Morwell and Traralgon for about an hour on Saturday, with extensive power outages across the Latrobe Valley during the three-day storm event.
Emergency service crews are bracing for similar conditions today and tomorrow, with a severe weather warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology.
Between them on Thursday, the Morwell, Moe and Erica SES units responded to 93 jobs across the Latrobe Valley involving storm damage and rescue.
At one point a wind gust of 165km/h was recorded at Wilsons Promontory.
Yarram volunteers attended the Tarra Bulga National Park where a large tree had fallen on a vehicle carrying a family of five.
A seven year-old girl sustained lacerations to her leg and was taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital, while her father, in his 40s, suffered neck injuries and was also taken to hospital.
