A 27 year-old Newborough man was arrested on Monday morning for allegedly taking a Samurai sword into a Morwell liquor store.
According to police, the man had attended a friend’s house where he acquired a small Samurai sword.
About 10.45am he allegedly went to Coles Liquorland, where staff observed the sword under his clothing and phoned police.
The man purchased some beer, before police arrived to arrest him.
He will be charged on summons with weapons and drug offences to appear in Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
