PowerWorks re-energises

Latrobe Valley tourism icon PowerWorks will reopen on Friday 27 November, three years after being closed.

The facility will be operated by volunteers as part of the four year business plan developed by the board of non-profit company PowerWorks Holdings.

The board wants volunteers to become ‘Friends of PowerWorks’ to help on a rostered basis in roles such as visitor information guides, gardens maintenance, and exhibits operations and maintenance.

Tomorrow’s grand reopening will be an opportunity for people to complete a ‘Friends of PowerWorks’ application form.

PowerWorks’ grand reopening day will be from noon to 8pm.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing will officially reopen the facility at 12.30pm and there will be a sausage sizzle from 4pm to 7pm, as well as other activities.
