Christmas hampers of hope

People struggling over the holiday period received a little extra help with the donation of food by the Moe community.

A shopping trolley was set up at Bendigo Bank in Moe and residents donated plenty of food in recent weeks, which was then packaged into hampers and given as gifts to people in need.

The food, mostly canned and non-perishable items, was handed over to Moe Hope Christian Community Church before Christmas for distribution.

“It’s mainly for disadvantaged people or people that have an emergency and it will help them out over Christmas,” church pastor Max Watters said.
