Fuel price variations

FUEL prices across the Latrobe Valley remained consistent this week as prices across regional Victoria varied 20 cents per litre.

According to data from the RACV, Morwell motorists coughed up an average of 119.8 cents per litre over the past week, with no recorded change from the previous week.

Across regional Victoria for the seven day period ending on Tuesday, Wodonga again recorded the lowest median price of 101.9 cents, while Corryong paid the highest at 122.5 cents per litre.

Closer to home, Leongatha residents recorded an average of 115.9 cents while Bairnsdale prices fell to 111.2 cents for the week.

However, cheaper fuel of 99.5 cents per litre was available at Bairnsdale Caltex on Tuesday and Warragul’s Queen Street United was selling unleaded at 108.7 cents.

Metropolitan prices were about eight cents per litre cheaper than Morwell yesterday, with median prices of 110.8 and 118.7 cents respectively.

Prices as low as 96.7 cents were recorded in some city suburbs, while George Street Caltex offered Morwell motorists the cheapest fuel at 115.9 cents per litre.
