Teenager stabbed in Traralgon

A TRARALGON teenager has been airlifted to The Alfred in Melbourne after he was allegedly stabbed outside a shopping centre.

Emergency services were called to the Stockland Traralgon shopping centre car park about 4pm yesterday.

The 17 year-old was found in a non-life threatening condition with a stab wound to his arm.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics treated the boy at the scene before conveying him to Latrobe Regional Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Latrobe Criminal Investigation Unit reported the boy was later airlifted to The Alfred to be treated for nerve and artery damage and underwent surgery last night.

Investigators have been told three teens were approached by another teen in the car park, who asked them for the time.

After giving the time, the three teens walked away before one was allegedly stabbed by the lone offender, who then ran off.

The offender was arrested at 9.30pm, handing himself into Morwell Police Station.

He is due to appear in court today for a remand application.
