Take in the sunflowers this Easter Sunday

A garden party in a field of sunflowers is set to take place in Moe this Easter Sunday with an Easter egg hunt and sunflower harvest planned.

Head to the old Moe Hospital site on the corner of Narracan Drive from 10am until noon to take part in the festivities.

A free barbecue, sunflower harvest and acknowledgement of sponsors will then take place at Morwell’s Beattie Crescent on 17 April for the second garden party.

The celebrations will begin from noon and finish about 2.30pm.

ReActivate Latrobe Valley’s Lynton Azlin – who has been overseeing the Get Sunflowered project this summer – encouraged all to go along.

“(Last year’s garden parties) proved to be a great day for families where we can harvest the sunflowers and share the sunflowers with members of the community and celebrate the wonderful Get Sunflowered summer of 2015/2016,” Mr Azlin said.

The Moe and Morwell parties will be the only two garden parties for this year and will be free events.
