Coalition promises more phone coverage

A re-elected Coalition Government will build a second mobile phone tower on the Hyland Highway, according to sitting Member for Gippsland Darren Chester.

Mr Chester said if the Coalition was elected the mobile phone tower would be built on the Yarram-side of the Hyland Highway near Tarra Valley.

He said the stretch of highway experienced significant coverage drops outs which presented challenges for people who found themselves stranded or in an emergency.

Mr Chester also promised major upgrades on the South Gippsland Highway, saying the Coalition would allocate $25 million to the South Gippsland Highway, to be matched dollar-for-dollar with the Victorian Government.
