The State Government has announced a new $20 million Latrobe Valley ‘Community Facility Fund’, targeting community projects.
Administered by the Latrobe Valley Authority and part of the government’s $266 million support package, its aim is to support the region build “strong and resilient communities by investing in community-led initiatives and partnerships”.
The fund will offer investment opportunities under two streams: ‘Liveable Latrobe Valley’ and ‘Active Latrobe Valley’.
Liveable Latrobe Valley will have three funding levels – up to $5000 for community events, up to $50,000 for community space upgrades, and between $50,000 and $999,999 for town infrastructure developments and major upgrades.
Active Latrobe Valley will concentrate on sport and recreation, offering up to $1 million for “job creating local projects” including community hall upgrades, new sporting facilities, improved playgrounds, nature trails and other visitor attractions.
All not-for-profit organisations and community groups are encouraged to apply.
