Pool plan mastered

Mirboo North residents will be treated to a new multi-million dollar redevelopment of the existing outdoor pool, under a master plan released by South Gippsland Shire Council.

Accessibility will be improved for wheelchairs, existing pools will be refurbished and current toddler pools replaced with new splash pad play areas.

South Gippsland Shire Council director of engineering services Anthony Seabrook said the pool would provide a wide range of health and social benefits to the community.

“Now that the master plans are complete (the community will) have a clear outline of how future works shall progress,” Mr Seabrook said.

“The upgrade will also include a revamp to the reception and kiosk areas, upgraded storage and plant facilities and ground beautification.”

The master plan also reveals the precinct would receive an upgrade to car parking and caf style seating.

Mr Seabrook said the revamp would provide an improved asset and community hub for the Mirboo North and broader community.

The Korumburra pool will also be upgraded as part of the project.
