Six weeks ago the doors closed at Commercial Road Primary School, raising fears its heritage buildings would be torn down.
But yesterday marked a new beginning for the hundred-plus year old site, with the premise re-opened as the new home of the Latrobe Valley Flexible Learning Option.
The education facility is a ‘safety net’ schooling program for students who are disengaged from mainstream education.
It was previously operating from Morwell’s Princes Drive, but its principal said it had outgrown the site.
Brett Pedlow previously told The Express the new Commercial Road location would allow the program to expand to cater to a broader range of student needs.
