Coffee with a Cop returns

Traralgon residents will have a chance to mingle with police next month when Coffee with a Cop returns to the Latrobe Valley – this time at Stockland Plaza.

Police held the inaugural event at Moe in August last year which was hailed a success after more than 90 people turned out to meet the men and women in blue.

Traralgon Acting Senior Sergeant Darren Eldridge said police were looking at bringing the event to Morwell in the coming months and encouraged Traralgon residents to put the event in their diary.

“We received some really good information and established some really good relationships with the public at Moe last year,” acting Senior Sergeant Eldridge said.

The aim of the hour-long event is to provide a relaxed and informal environment to meet and greet an array of local police, including detectives.

Attendees will be able to enjoy a flat white or a long black and munch on some carrot cake while meeting the people who keep the streets safe.

Stockland Plaza centre manager Jeff Andrews welcomed the event following the centre’s installation of an additional 40 CCTV cameras to boost safety around the complex.

Coffee with a Cop will be held on Friday, February 16 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm in the food court at Stockland Traralgon.
