Detectives have charged a 17-year-old Carrum Downs boy following burglaries in the Churchill area.
He was charged following multiple alleged burglaries at the Churchill Fire Brigade, Kurnai College Churchill and a mechanic’s yard in December.
The boy was also charged with theft and graffiti-related offences following an incident at Churchill North Primary School. He will face a children’s court next month.
A 14-year-old Churchill boy was previously charged with burglary, theft, graffiti and criminal damage in December while a 17-year-old boy, also from Churchill, was released pending summons on the same offences.
Hazelwood North car fire
A car fire on Clarkes Road, Hazelwood North on Tuesday night is being treated as suspicious.
A witness reported the white Ford Festiva ablaze about 8pm.
An area of about 20 metres of grass was burnt around the vehicle.

Alcohol stolen in Morwell
Sassy Kat in Morwell was targeted during a burglary overnight on Monday.
Police said offenders forced entry through the front door of the Tarwin Street store about 12.20am.
A quantity of alcohol was stolen from the shop, which specialises in rockabilly and vintage wear, during the incident.
