A man has been remanded in custody following an assault on another man at a boarding home in Campbell Street, Traralgon on Tuesday.
Police allege the 28-year-old Traralgon man forced entry into another resident’s room about 2.45am and assaulted a 42-year-old man inside.
Both men suffered minor injuries.
Police arrived at the property a short time later and arrested both men for questioning.
The 28-year-old was charged with aggravated burglary and remanded in custody.
He will face the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court at a later date while the 42-year-old was released pending further investigation.
Boy charged
Police have charged a 17-year-old Clayton boy following a number of incidents at Moe last month.
Detectives alleged the boy stole a car and property from a vehicle in separate incidents on Wirraway Street on February 28.
A day later, he was allegedly involved in an aggravated burglary where another car was stolen on Service Road.
The boy was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of motor vehicle and will appear before a children’s court at later this year.
Police reminded drivers to lock their vehicles and to keep keys out of sight from prying eyes.
