During the incident, the woman was punched in her face and body a number of times by an unknown man who fled the property with a black handbag following the assault.
While police are yet to arrest anyone, they requested anyone who saw a man wearing a dark grey hoodie, gloves and a mask or balaclava covering his face in the Princes Drive area on Friday to contact police.
“We’ve collected a fair bit of CCTV footage that covers the surrounding area and we’re reviewing that at the moment,” Detective Senior Constable Chris Bortignong said.
“There’s a few other things that we’re looking into at the moment and police are still appealing for witnesses.”
Police believe the man entered the property through an unlocked door before assaulting the woman who received injuries to her hands, face and parts of her upper body, including bruising.
