Three people have been arrested after allegedly breaking into several cars at Federation University Churchill on Wednesday morning.
Police said five parked cars were allegedly broken into early Wednesday morning before police were called to the campus and arrested three people.
Police said the two men and one woman aged between 17 and 20 would be charged on summons with theft from motor vehicle and criminal damage.
“People need to be aware and lock their vehicles, make sure their windows are wound up and not to leave any valuables in their cars overnight,” Morwell First Constable Marissa Ravenhall.
Clothing and other valuable items were allegedly stolen during the incident.
The three people are expected to face court at a later date.
Second person charged over carjacking
Detectives have charged a second person following an alleged carjacking in Morwell last Tuesday.
An 18-year-old Morwell man was arrested on Monday afternoon and charged with aggravated carjacking, armed robbery, theft of a car and theft.
He was remanded in custody on Monday night before he faced Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
A second person, a 17-year-old boy from Morwell, was arrested andRay charged on Friday.
He will face the children’s court at a later date.
