LATROBE City has recorded 24 new cases of COVID-19.
There was 1749 new cases recorded in Victoria, all were locally acquired.
This brings the state to 22,476 active cases.
Eleven Victorians have died from COVID-19.
Currently, 784 people are in hospital, 149 are in intensive care and 100 are on a ventilator.
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said 96 per cent of people in intensive care were not fully vaccinated.
Regional Victoria recorded 145 new cases of COVID-19, and Baw Baw Shire recorded 18 new cases.
During the press conference the Premier warned Victorians who have not been vaccinated.
“If you don’t want to end up in hospital, then access one of those three vaccines. They will keep you safe, they will keep you well, they will keep you out of hospital,” he said.
A total of 36,651 vaccines were administered across the state yesterday.
Over 89 per cent of Victorians over 16 years have received their first dose, and 67.2 per cent have been double dosed.
The Premier said the state is “well placed to meet our target”, of opening up on Thursday October 21 at 11.59pm.
He also encouraged people to move their second doses forward if possible.
A $21 million package was announced at today’s press conference, aiming to support Victorians who may face additional barriers to get vaccinated.
The package will target a number of groups, including at risk youth, culturally diverse people, seniors and victims of family violence.
