Regional Victoria recorded 145 new cases of COVID-19, and Baw Baw Shire recorded 18 new cases.

During the press conference the Premier warned Victorians who have not been vaccinated.

“If you don’t want to end up in hospital, then access one of those three vaccines. They will keep you safe, they will keep you well, they will keep you out of hospital,” he said.

A total of 36,651 vaccines were administered across the state yesterday.

Over 89 per cent of Victorians over 16 years have received their first dose, and 67.2 per cent have been double dosed.

The Premier said the state is “well placed to meet our target”, of opening up on Thursday October 21 at 11.59pm.

He also encouraged people to move their second doses forward if possible.

A $21 million package was announced at today’s press conference, aiming to support Victorians who may face additional barriers to get vaccinated.

The package will target a number of groups, including at risk youth, culturally diverse people, seniors and victims of family violence.
