MORWELL coach Damian Kerr was impressed with his side’s second half performance on Saturday.
Despite going down to the in-form Leongatha, Kerr said he was heartened by the Tigers’ improvement.
“Our performance in the second half was our best half of football all season,” he said.
“And Leongatha are one of the top two sides in the competition, so hopefully we can do it again against Bairnsdale this week.
“The next two games are big for us in terms of getting our season back on track.”
Although Bairnsdale upset reigning premiers Traralgon last week, Kerr believed it would be a “different story” playing the Redlegs away from their home ground.
Kerr was also optimistic about the return of two key players, Tim and Jeff Ryan.
“They’ll be back in a couple of weeks which will be a huge boost for the team,” he said.
Kerr also confirmed the Tigers were in a better position than they were last year regarding injuries.
