ROUND six of the Traralgon and District Cricket Association’s Neilsons Builders Cup produced some of the best batting performances of the season with five players posting centuries.
Leading the way was TDCA Team of the Century member Grantley Switzer who wound the clock back with a blistering 182 to register a record 20th A grade ton.
Teammate Kent Hammond waltzed back into form with 102*.
Raiders duo Brad Knowles (117) and Mark Andrew (102) joined the party, as did Glengarry skipper Ben Marks with a superb 119*.
Toongabbie v CATS
AFTER traveling out to Toongabbie, CATS won the toss and batted.
Dan Nicholls top scored with 86 and received support from Brett Chapman (34) and Stan Grazotis (38) as CATS reached 213.
Tom Shippen was the pick of the bowlers again with 4/31 off 21.
Toongabbie are 0/10 in reply.
Churchill v Glengarry
GLENGARRY had no hesitation in batting first and built up a solid total before losing wickets late in the day.
The standout was captain Ben Marks, who remained unbeaten on 119* to carry his side to a formidable 242.
Sam Marks (30) and Paul Henry (26) were next best.
Churchill veteran Craig Flanigan returned to A grade to take 4/6, while youngster Ryan Harvey took 3/51.
Raiders v Imperials
RAIDERS batted first and were in trouble early at 3/27 with Macfarlane (14) Dyke (0) and Burrows (3) all back in the shed.
A glittering 201 run fourth wicket stand between skipper Brad Knowles and Mark Andrew turned the game around and put Raiders in the box seat with 267 on the board.
Mark Andrew made a brilliant 102 to record his first A grade century, while Brad Knowles showed all his class with a magnificent 117.
Centrals v Traralgon West
TRARALGON West’s batting woes continued as they were dismissed for 121.
Shaun Falla with 33 and Jon Bell with 24 were best.
Marc Fenech (3/30), Corey Pollard (2/17) and Stuart Brooks (2/21) did the damage for Centrals.
After 16 overs Centrals are 2/31.
Gormandale v Rovers
GORMANDALE put on a batting blitz against Rovers to post 2/313 declared off 58 overs.
When Kade Joske went for 25 with the score on 75, Grantley Switzer and Kent Hammond took over with a club record 218 run second wicket stand.
Switzer turned back the clock smashing eight sixes en route to his highest score and in doing so brought up a record 20 A grade hundreds.
Kent Hammond too showed all his class belting a whirlwind 102*.
In reply Rovers are struggling at 4/57 with Simon Duff on 26*.
