TRARALGON and District Junior Cricket Association staged its under 13 and under 15 finals at the weekend.
Under 13 – Centrals v Churchill
CHURCHILL won the toss and batted first to record an impressive 5/166.
Ben McCormack was outstanding for the Cobras with 94 while Bailey Flanigan (24) and Tom Sevensen (17) both contributed.
Centrals’ best bowler was Lachlan Pattersen with 2/43.
In a monumental run chase Centrals reached the target three wickets down with just seven balls to spare.
Max Luckie stood tall with 75 along with Jordon Jobling (38*), and Trent Hourigan helped matters along with 17.
Churchill’s best bowler was Bailey who claimed 2/23.
Ben’s batting heroics in a losing side earned man of the match honours.
Under 15 – Tiger Sharks v Imperials
THE Tiger Sharks won the toss and batted first, reaching a competitive 9/113 after the 40 over allocation.
The runs came from all corners with Kade Duncan (19), Nathan Heard (17*), Lachlan Spiteri (19) and Luke Marriot (13) chipping in.
Ryan Morley was dangerous and economical for Imperials with 2/7.
Imperials made a stellar start of 37 in reply as Zac Tactor (19) and Ryan Morley (18) went about their work.
When those two were dismissed only Riley Livingstone, who top scored with 26, fired as Imperials fell for 82.
Player of the final Kade Duncan was lethal for the Tiger Sharks, claiming 5/12, and Thomas Brougham’s 2/5 helped defend a vulnerable score.
