RESIDUAL track damage from a wet Ladies Day at Glenview Park led to the loss of a second meeting this season for Latrobe Valley Racing Club on Friday.
Racing manager Brendan Blackshaw said Friday’s meeting, which was transferred to Bairnsdale, likely could have run despite lingering surface damage incurred in a shortened card on 1 November.
However he said the club took a cautious approach to ensure the surface was ready for Traralgon Cup day on 7 December.
“Cup day is the important one so we need to make sure we get it right for that,” Blackshaw said. He said he was confident the track would be repaired in time for the Cup.
