T-Birds trumped

TRARALGON came off worse for wear against its Latrobe Valley rivals in a CBL Gippsland men’s double header at the weekend.

The T-Birds dropped the points at home to Moe 85-93 on Saturday and to Churchill 84-99 the following day.

Nick Sedley was immense for the Meteors with a game high 33 points, while Jordan Canovan was the destroyer for Churchill with 35 points on Sunday.

Brad Watson had a strong weekend in a losing side, racking up 18 against Moe and 25 against Churchill.

The Meteors and Blue Devils broke even in their double-headers, going down to Sale and Western Port respectively.

Moe was relegated to third on the men’s ladder behind Warragul and Western Port, with Churchill fifth and Traralgon eighth.

Traralgon reversed the result in CBL Gippsland women’s action, accounting for Moe 56-35 and Churchill 74-62.

The T-Birds shared the load with five individual double figure point tallies against Churchill and three versus Moe.

The Meteors head the women’s ladder, with Churchill and Traralgon in third and fourth respectively.
