NEERIM District bowler Karren Sheers enjoyed a triumphant weekend of bowls, taking out the Ladies State Singles and Champion of Champion Singles at the Strzelecki Region Finals held at Trafalgar Bowls Club.
Sheers defeated Nics McKenzie of Fish Creek in both finals, taking a convincing win in the morning before toughing out a 24-25 result in the afternoon.
Traralgon’s Ian Kirkup, Michael Yacoub and Ian Hilsley were also in hot form taking out the Men’s State Triples crown in an otherwise tough day out for West Gippsland representatives.
South Gippsland was victorious in seven of the 11 finals staged on the day.
