COWWARR Recreation Reserve will receive new change rooms as part of a $635,000 redevelopment project.
The reserve is the home ground of the Cowwarr Football Netball Club, and is also used by the Toongabbie Junior Tennis Club.
The project – funded with $495,792 from Wellington Shire Council, $100,000 from Sport and Recreation Victoria and $40,000 from the recreation reserve’s management committee – will involve the redevelopment of existing home and away side change rooms, construction of new umpire change rooms, new netball change rooms and accessible public amenities.
It will also include the construction of an all-ability access entry foyer with ramp.
“This is a great project that will see huge benefits for the Cowwarr Football Netball Club and the Cowwarr community,” Wellington Shire mayor Darren McCubbin said.
“It’s another step towards our Wellington 2030 vision of developing our sport and recreation facilities and addressing barriers, which hinder community participation.”
