Flag favouritism on the line in TDCA

Ex Students and Toongabbie head the Traralgon and District Cricket Association ladder after three rounds with wins in every game.

The clash between the two this weekend at Toongabbie is sure to herald an early season premiership favourite.

The reigning premier Sharks have a strong side and, with Jackson McMahon, James Pryde, Jordy Gilmore and skipper Lee Stockdale all in great touch with the bat, look the goods.

Toongabbie has recruited well and Tim Garner is set to take the TDCA by storm.

Tom Shippen and Rob Wheildon are class players that complement this new look team.

It will be a great game, but Ex Students should be too strong.

Centrals v MTY Raiders – Yinnar

Centrals travel to Yinnar for a “home game” in

name only this weekend with both sides chasing their second win.

Matt Dyke, Liam Maynard and Jason Macfarlane hold the key in the Raiders’ batting department, while star allrounder Brad Knowles is the matchwinner.

Centrals batted well last week to score 220; Sam Gray will look to back it up while Mark Rawson could engineer a big score if he gets going.

Raiders to win this one in a close tussle.

Imperials v CATS – Catterick Crescent

IMPERIALS face CATS in an even clash on paper and both sides have shown some good form.

Imps suffered a towelling in round two but only just failed against Glengarry last week.

Josh Rurawhe, Brett Chapman and Matt Hibbs will need to bat well so Nat Campbell and Joel Randall can get their bowling skills into action.

CATS have Ben Julin in good touch and along with Josh Keyhoe have the ability to score a good total.

Imperials to win at home.

Rovers v Glengarry – Duncan Cameron Park

After a season away from Duncan Cameron Park, Rovers will finally get their A grade side back on their redeveloped ground where it will chase an upset against Glengarry.

If Todd Mann is fit to bowl then Rovers have the ability to keep Glen to a reasonable score.

The Williams brothers – Dougal and Ewan – along with Stefan Sbaglia are up and coming young players with plenty of ability.

Glengarry will hope its impressive batting line-up can fire.

Ben, Sam and Frank Marks, along with Alistair Jenkin and Hayden Ross-Schultz, have the firepower to make a massive score.

Glengarry should be too good.

Gormandale v Traralgon West – Stoddart Park

In years gone by this clash has been dominated by Gormandale.

But things could be different this time around.

The Tigers do not boast the big name stars of the past and will have to fight hard to score a win.

Much will rely on Shaun Barbour and Chris Lehner to have big games.

Tim Fitch and Matt Kirkham hold the key for the Eagles and if they can both score well the West will be well on its way.

Gormandale to scrape home in a scrap.
