St Vincent’s Primary School Morwell students received a visit from the Morwell Swimming Club last month.
Head coach, Melissa Scholes, spoke to an enthusiastic gathering of students and presented the school captains with a special award.
St Vincent’s won the inaugural Morwell and District Primary Aquatic Games in September and received a frame from the Morwell Swimming Club containing photos of their team and a cap autographed by Olympian Josh Beaver, who attended the carnival.
Principal Teresa Greenough said the students had thoroughly enjoyed the swimming carnival hosted by the Morwell Swimming Club, and were looking forward to participating again next year.
The Morwell Swimming Club will again be running its “Get Ready For School Sports” program over the coming summer. Classes will run every Tuesday, for the month of January 2018, starting on January 2, for children interested in improving their skills for school swimming carnivals.
