Yarram topped a stellar 2019 season in style with a 24-point win over Churchill to take out the reserves premiership on Saturday, 11.12 (78) to 7.12 (54)
The Demons established a six-point lead at the first break with two goals and four behind to the Cougars’ one goal and four behinds.
Churchill were made to rue more missed shots on goal in the second quarter with the same number of shots on goal but trailed by five at the main break.
There was just six points in it at the last break as the Cougars won the third term with two goals to the Dees’ one, however, the minor premiers pulled away in the final quarter with three goals and two behinds while holding Churchill to just two behinds.
Justin Staley found his feet on the big stage and finished with four goals for Yarram in the win to cap off a phenomenal finals series.
Jeremy Babb and Lukas Jenkins each kicked three for the Demons while Morgan Cleary kicked one.
For Churchill, Joseph Whykes and Hamish Towns kicked two each.
