Play in the Central Gippsland Cricket Association was abandoned without a ball being bowled as heavy rain on Friday night and intermittent showers Saturday rendered conditions unplayable.
The league announced play was cancelled via its Facebook page shortly before 10am after issuing an earlier statement which said games would proceed at umpires’ discretion.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, 15.2 millimetres of rain fell on the Latrobe Valley between 5pm Friday and 5am Saturday with a further 7.4 millimetres falling before midnight.
Jeeralang Boolarra and Latrobe round out the four, while Trafalgar (fifth), Moe (sixth) and Yallourn North (seventh) lose an opportunity to improve their position.
Next week Morwell will host Trafalgar at Keegan Street Reserve, Mirboo North travels to Moe and Latrobe takes on Jeeralang Boolarra at Peter Siddle Oval.
Yallourn North had the bye.
