Plants seized
Traralgon police have uncovered a large number of cannabis plants after they executed a search warrant at a residential address in Traralgon on Thursday.
Police allege they found a hydroponic setup with 23 cannibals plants ranging in size and maturity.
A Traralgon man in his early 40s was charged with cultivation and possession of cannabis.
He was released on bail and will face Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court later this year.
Morwell armed robbery
Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a report of an armed robbery in Morwell Thursday morning.
Police have been told a man was locking his car in the public car park west of the Morwell Library about 7.50am when he was approached by an unknown person.
The man was allegedly struck on the back of the head, causing him to lose consciousness for a period of time. His wallet was stolen.
The victim did not see the offender but recalls hearing two young male voices.

Stick to the limit
Latrobe Highway Patrol are warning motorists to observe speed restrictions around roadworks taking place across the Latrobe Valley.
Police have received recent requests for assistance to enforce restricted speed limits in roadworks taking place in around Morwell and Traralgon.
Drivers are reminded to stick to 40 kilometres per hour through designated roadwork areas regardless if work’s being undertaken.
On Thursday and Friday Latrobe Highway Patrol issued five drivers with infringement notices for exceeding the 40km/h an hour speed limit through roadwork areas.
Fines range from $311 to $584 and can include a loss of demerit points and a suspension of licence.
