THE Moe/Newborough Dodgers amassed an avalanche of runs to bury the Sale Rangers in round 17 of GDF SUEZ Loy Yang B Latrobe Valley Baseball 23-8.
After a scoreless first innings the Dodgers went ahead in the second with two runs.
The Dodgers then went on a hitting spree, keeping the scorers busy with 11 runs in the third and six in the fourth.
Sale scored four in both the fourth and sixth innings, but the Dodgers responded with four more in the seventh to run away with the victory.
Tim Wilson had six runners batted in on three hits for the Dodgers while his team combined for 26 hits total.
The Churchill Braves travelled to Traralgon to tackle the Redsox on a icy cold and blustery day.
The Braves put on a run in the first innings to jump to a lead on a single to Mat Prior who stole second then was pushed around by sacrifice hits to Brad Warton and Matt Hardie.
The Redsox answered in the second with a John Kus single scoring Brett Sharp.
Traralgon scored in the third, fifth, sixth and added two in the seventh while Brad Adams held the Braves to one earned run on three hits and one walk in seven innings.
Prior’s RBI double had the Braves on the comeback when they scored three in the eighth, but his side came up short 6-4.
