Police seize meth and cash in Newborough home

Moe police have seized methylamphetamine, heroin, GHB and cash after carrying out a search warrant at a house in Newborough yesterday morning.

Police conducted the search of the Torres Street property after an investigation into substances – alleged methylamphetamine – were located in packages by Australia Post.

Police found a quantity of what was alleged to be methylamphetamine, heroin, gamma hydroxy butanol, prescription medication and approximately $14,000 in cash.

A man and a woman were found inside the property.

A 32-year-old man was charged with trafficking drugs of dependence, possessing drugs of dependence, possessing property being proceeds of crime and bail offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Latrobe Magistrates’ Court today.

A 30-year-old woman was released pending further enquiries.
