Strong field of riders expected

THE overwhelming popularity of the Blores Hill mountain bike tracks will see the Victorian Endurance Series return to the course on Sunday for a six hour race.

After the success of last year’s event, organisers are expecting a strong field of riders from around the state.

The track is in excellent condition due to the countless hours volunteers have spent improving the track’s condition, making them even more enjoyable.

Cash prizes will be awarded on the day, as well as the Gippsland Mountain Bike Club’s unique handmade trophies.

Categories include solo male, female and junior, as well as various team events.

The race will start and finish in the Blores Hill caravan park, making it the perfect place for visitors to stay and familiarise themselves with the tracks.

Accommodation is also available at Munjara Outdoor Centre.

Registration is currently open on the internet, or you can register between 5pm and 8pm on Saturday at the Blores Hill Caravan Park.

No registrations will be accepted on race day.

The event will be fully catered for on Saturday and Sunday, and a shuttle bus will be running on race day to take spectators out to the tracks.

The caravan park is north of Heyfield and will be signposted over the weekend.

Parking is available, so the GMBC invites everyone to come and watch or challenge themselves against some of the state’s best riders.
