MORWELL Tigers Yinnar Raiders Cricket Club has welcomed the announcement by Construction Sciences that it will extend its financial support for a further year.
Construction Sciences has been the club’s major sponsor since 2018.
Club president Darren Burrows said the sponsorship not only contributed to the running and maintenance of the club but had a positive effect on the wider community.
“Over the past three years, Yinnar and district has experienced natural disasters such as flood and bushfire, as well as the closure of the Hazelwood Power Station. These events can impact the people of the district in terms of financial hardship as well as mental health and wellbeing. Knowing that Construction Sciences is there as a major sponsor, to assist with funding for things like grounds upkeep and club apparel, eases the burden on members and players,” he said.
“Pleasingly, we’ve even been able to ensure our junior players can play for free, which reduces the pressure on families who might be struggling with finances. We’d like to extend our thanks to Construction Sciences for their ongoing support.”
Construction Sciences is Australia’s largest Construction Materials Testing company, providing quality assurance testing for soils, concrete and aggregates and specialising in large infrastructure projects.
The company employs 10 people at its Traralgon site and has been operating in the Gippsland area since 2015.
Area manager Adam Gleeson said that community support was a mutually beneficial arrangement.
“As an organisation based in this region, and employing locals, we know the importance of supporting the community,” he said.
“We are delighted to see our contribution to the Morwell Tigers Yinnar Raiders Cricket Club in action – the ground boasts one of the best playing surface and turf area in the Latrobe Valley.
“Local sport is often the heart of a small community, bringing people together for physical exercise and social wellbeing. We are proud to be able to be associated with the club and its clear service to its district.”
