Gippy trains late again

Gippsland train commuters were faced with an unacceptable number of delayed trains last month after V/Line did not meet its punctuality target for the Traralgon line.

V/Line has not reached its punctuality target of 92 per cent on the Gippsland line since its data was first recorded in 2006, and just 80.5 per cent of services were “on time” during June.

A service is considered “on time” if it arrives within one minute prior and five minutes after its scheduled time.

While punctuality consistently falls short, June was also the first month in about two years the Gippsland line did not meet its reliability target of 96 per cent, falling just short, with 95.9 per cent of services running.
